Necrotic Flesh: You have a +2 racial bonus to saving throws against poison effects. Also, when you make a death saving throw, you can take the better result of your die roll or 10.
Shadow Origin: You have been infused with the powers of the Shadowfell, so you are considered a shadow creature for the purpose of effects that relate to creature origin.
Undead: You are an undead. You do not need to eat, drink, breathe, or sleep.You never make Endurance checks to resist the effect of starvation, thirst, or suffocation. All other conditions and effects affect you normally.
Undead Resitances: You have resistance to necrotic damage equal to 5 + one half your level. In addition you are immune to disease.
Unnatural Resilience: You can use Unnatural Resilience as an encounter power.

There are creatures who have naturally and unnaturally become undead, whether rising from the grave in search of vengeance, having been brought to undeath by the forces of a necromancer, or have been given undeath by the dreaded kiss of a vampire. There are tales though of those who go through a strange and arcane ritual to become undead, or have said ritual forced upon them, forevermore being forced to walk the earth as creatures not quite alive or dead.

There are also rumors of those who have gone through such torment and agony, emotional or physical, that they have rejected their own lives. With a release of power, their very life force drifts away from these exceptions leaving them undead husks of their former selves, retaining their thoughts and emotions but having no pulse or metabolism to speak of.

Play a Necropolitan if you want …

  • to be an intelligent, and resilient creature that favors magic.
  • to be a creature who has become immortality, through undeath.
  • to be a member of a race that favors the necromancer, warlock, and wizard classes.

Necropolitans are humanoids who renounce life and embrace undeath in a special ritual called the Ritual of Crucimigration. They resemble the creatures they were in life, but its skin is dry, withered, and powdery. Its eyes are as pale as driven snow, and as lifeless.

While necropolitans do not reek of decay, as many undead do, they always smell somewhat stale. It continues to dress in the fashion it preferred while living. Even so they often wear concealing clothing such as cloaks and hooded robes, and it is not difficult to mistake one for a living person under the right disguise.

Necropolitans are considered citizens of the little-known city of Nocturnus, but if their nature is revealed elsewhere, they are feared and hunted like common monsters.

Necropolitan Names: Most necropolitans keep the name they had in life, yet others may want to start over in which case they give themselves a name that represents their new nature.
