Gray Witch

Prerequisite: Fateweaver

During the time of the Empire of Nerath there were many who explored the dark arts of Shadow Magic, seeking an edge over the primal power of the barbarians who encroached on the empire's borders. Many discovered that weaving shadows together using arcane power as a backbone was an easy way to power, but others sought to find a more pure path to shadow. After long and arduous study the Witches of the Gray Coven perfected a method of using their will to shape shadows into subtle magics without the aid of external power sources. Using this raw form of shadow magic they discovered they could tap into the stream of fate and alter the flow of time around them, a talent they used to great effect during the many border skirmishes which presaged the fall of Nerath. However, dissent and distrust ran rampant in the end days, and the Witches were accused of working with the demonic hordes which assailed the Empire, and summarily hanged. Legends say a few Gray Witches escaped the purge and, out of spite, twisted fate to cause the very fall the Nerathi had feared would happen. Since then the tradition has been passed down from parent to child and slowly the Witches of the Gray Coven have been resumed their place in the shadows…

Path Features

Foretold Action (Level 11): You may spend an action point to allow an ally to reroll a missed attack roll, instead of gaining an extra action. The ally gains a +5 power bonus to the reroll.

Power of Destiny (Level 11): When you use a power which grants an ally a basic attack, the ally may choose to either gain a +2 power bonus to all defenses until the end of your next turn, or gain temporary hit points equal to 10 + one half your level.

Wyrd Weaver (Level 16): You roll d8s for the extra healing when you use Reweave Fate, instead of d6s.

Path Powers

Murder Shroud Gray Witch Attack 11

The shadows swirl around your allies like a flock of ravens, carrying them partway to the shadowfell and disrupting the enemy's attack long enough for your ally to counterattack.

Target: Triggering ally
Trigger: An ally takes damage

Effect: The target is insubstantial until the end of his or her next turn. The target may then make a basic attack as a free action.

Spirit Whispers Gray Witch Utility 12

The spirits of the dead talk to you in hushed tones, speaking of impending doom which you can now act to avoid.

Minor Action Ranged 10
Target: You or one ally

Effect: The target does not grant combat advantage until the end of your next turn and may shift 2 squares as a free action. In addition, the target gains a +2 power bonus to all defenses until the end of your next turn.

You Die by the Sword Gray Witch Attack 11

You see a ravaged wound on your enemies body and recognize it as the mark of an ally's weapon. Reacting quickly, you direct your ally to strike.

Standard Action Ranged 10
Target: One ally

Effect: The target makes a basic attack as a free action against a creature of your choice. The attack gains a power bonus to the attack roll equal to your Intelligence or Charisma modifier, and deals 2[W] extra damage on a hit. If the target is wielding a Light Blade or Heavy Blade, the attack also deals ongoing 10 damage (save ends).
