Dark Messiah

"With this power I have a responsibility to do what's right…"

Prerequisite: Duskblade, Valiant Defender

Every good warrior understands that sacrifice is necessary in combat. Battles can't be won without a few good men and women taking hits for the team, and few wars could even be waged without the sacrifice of hundreds of brave soldiers. However, some take things to the extreme. Where bravery ends, recklessness begins. You are on the border of that line, constantly walking the razor's edge between altruism and madness.
You give freely of yourself and expect nothing in return, spilling your own blood so that others might be spared. Some have called you foolish, or even suicidal, and your friends worry that you may actively be trying to get yourself killed. Perhaps they're right. Maybe you feel you have to atone for some great evil you feel responsible for, or perhaps your aura of unluck is such a ccurse that you just want to be free of it. Or perhaps you're really not suicidal, and simply accept punishment because you know you can take it.
Whatever is the case, those who you've saved often tell stories of the dark savior who appeared to rescue them and then walked away, neither wanting nor expecting gratitude. You are a rock in the storm, and you would see yourself break before your allies are put in danger.

Path Features

Dark Resolve (Level 11): You gain the Toughness and Durable feats as bonus feats.

Martyr's Action (Level 11): When you spend an action point to take an extra action, you may lose one healing surge. One ally within 5 squares of you may regain hit points equal to your healing surge value.

Give of Myself (Level 16): When an effect would allow you to spend a healing surge, you may choose to regain half the normal number of hit points. One ally within 5 squares of you regains the remainder.

Curse of the Fallen Angel Dark Messiah Attack 20

Wings of shadow flare behind you, rocketing you forward and sheathing your allies in protective darkness.

Daily • Illusion, Shadow, Weapon
Standard Action Melee Weapon
Target: One creature

Effect: Before the attack you fly up to your speed. This movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks. Until the end of the encounter, any ally adjacent to you has partial concealment. In addition, once before the end of the encounter you may lose a healing surge as a minor action. If you do so, one ally adjacent to you regains hit points equal to your healing surge value + your Wisdom modifier.

Attack: Charisma vs. AC

Hit: 3[W] + Charisma modifier damage.

Effect: Until the end of your next extended rest, or until you end the effect as a free action, when an enemy marked by your Mark of Woe makes an attack that doesn't include you, one ally which is a target of the attack regains hit points equal to 5 + your Wisdom modifier after the attack is resolved.
